Softwood Lumber

Softwood lumber comes from coniferous (needle bearing) evergreen trees and includes multiple species of pine, fir, cedar, redwood, spruce, cypress, juniper, and hemlock. Softwoods are used in construction as well as for interior trim, cabinetry and furniture. Some species, such as redwood and cedar, are very resistant to decay and hold up well in outdoor applications.
